Vertilizar

Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

In late 2017 four Austrian musicians came together with a single purpose. To combine hard-hitting music with emotional and soulful lyrics. Crafting their songs through their own life experiences, their writing has tapped into the strengths and weaknesses of the human condition making their music and lyrics instantly relatable. Having received worldwide airplay, their singles have topped charts in Australia, the UK and the US. Their powerful melody laden riffs and heartfelt vocals are the signature sound of this hard rock/metal band.

The band join us this week in preparation for their new self titled EP, which is due for release on the 21st September 2018.

Man Eat Grass

Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

Man Eat Grass are a four piece band from the South of England United Kingdom featuring guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. In their own words:

Write, play, record, we don't feel the need to ponce around with our tracks to make them sound commercial for hours, days, weeks, months. At the end of the day, music is to enjoy, once you start changing what you do to fit in with others, then its lost its originality. Influences are many, from that guy who just sits on a cold floor with a guitar busking to earn a crust, right through to the multi million selling artist who really doesn't need to do, It ain't for the money no more, its for the love. Music owns my soul and forever will.

The SolaJets

Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

The genesis of The SolaJets ignites from a Norfolk pub in the autumn of 2015. Rupe had recently taken up the drums again, and was enjoying a pint of ale waiting for the next act to begin at the monthly open mic night. Onto the small stage walked Ben, and a minute later a wall of sound hit the packed audience. Nice? No! Subtle? No! Friendly? No!

But bloody hell it had soul and passion, and the clever lyrics and unusual sound had the audience hooked. Good songs mate - looking for a drummer?
This quick conversation resulted in a hastily built studio and word went out that they were looking for a bass player. Shortly afterwards Andy arrived with a car full of vintage Moog synths, a bass guitar, and an enthusiasm that like his own intense sound, simply knows no bounds.

Primes

Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

PRIMES are an alternative rock three piece from Scotland formed in November 2017. Following in the footsteps of other hard hitting Scottish alternative rockers like Biffy Clyro and Twin Atlantic, PRIMES have a blend of unforgettable melodies, punchy chorus drops and the unique combination of three-way harmonies.

Debuting live in March 2018 to a sold-out headline slot in Scotland’s biggest unsigned venue King Tuts, PRIMES have continued to gig across Scotland’s music scene developing a notoriously loyal fan-base. Supporting Scottish Cult Hero’s BMX Bandits to playing at Rewind Festival in Perth. ‘Breathe’, the debut single from PRIMES was released in February 2018 to an enthusiastic reception causing contagious outbursts of the chorus hook “Just Let Me Breathe” at all PRIMES live shows. Referred to as taken influence from Royal Blood, Kings Of Leon and Biffy Clyro, ‘Breathe’ has been described by Discovery Music Scotland as having a massive feel and an anthem like chorus. PRIMES have grown up surrounded by music and are combining these experiences to create their own unique and memorable sound.

Jerry Hull

Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

This week Jerry joins us with his brand new single "Foreign Agent Lover", which was released last Sunday. We're sure it's going to be popular!

Music reviewers and fans have often said that my style is similar to Elton John, Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, and Todd Rundgren both musically and vocally, but with my own original style emerging. My style is also impacted from being brought up in the mid-south of the United States and certainly from being born and raised in Memphis (Tennessee). After living and gigging from Memphis to Los Angeles, the mid-west USA, and Toronto for 24 years, I am now settled in East Yorkshire. My life’s experiences and present surroundings have most definitely also played an additional role on the style of my recent writing activity. I have never been so prolific as I am now in my entire life – within the last 3 years producing over 300 songs!

Remember, we're always looking for fresh local talent to broadcast and promote, if you want to be involved you can provide us with some information about yourself as well as uploading a demo here.
