Jerry Hull

Originally from Memphis (Tennessee), but now based in Kingston Upon Hull (UK), Jerry Hull is a singer, pianist, songwriter, and musical arranger. His music is piano driven and entirely original, accompanied by soaring vocals and various other instrumentation, harking back to the popular sounds of the 1960’s and 70’s with a modern imaginative twist. Jerry’s music encompasses a wide variety of genres such as pop, rock, blues, boogie-woogie, Americana, gospel, country, medieval, jazz, ragtime, orchestral, romantic and that classic Memphis sound.

Since April 2015, Jerry has released 37 singles (including some album tracks, 11 videos, as well as 5 albums. His debut “Heaven Help Me” was released in July 2015, and a sixth album is due for release in May 2018.

Music reviewers and fans have often said that my style is similar to Elton John, Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, and Todd Rundgren both musically and vocally, but with my own original style emerging. My style is also impacted from being brought up in the mid-south of the United States and certainly from being born and raised in Memphis (Tennessee). After living and gigging from Memphis to Los Angeles, the mid-west USA, and Toronto for 24 years, I am now settled in East Yorkshire. My life’s experiences and present surroundings have most definitely also played an additional role on the style of my recent writing activity. I have never been so prolific as I am now in my entire life – within the last 3 years producing over 300 songs!

Chris King Robinson

Chris King Robinson on Taking Off With Spitfire - Showcasing Local Talent from the South Holland area

It was inevitable, after spending his formative years listening to guitar legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix & Buddy Guy, that Chris King Robinson would pick up a Fender Stratocaster and learn the craft for himself.

Fast forward through his progress - from those first notes played by 9 year old Chris in 2003; through 1000’s of practice hours, relentless gigging, and millions of YouTube hits later - to 2017, where at the age of 23, Chris has quickly established himself as Twitter’s most followed blues guitarist worldwide. His self- produced and released first single ‘Lipstick On Her Cigar’, hit No.1 on the iTunes & Amazon Blues charts, after just one day of sales, whilst his debut EP 'Tell Me Why You're Scared' set the Blues world alight by flying straight to No.1 on both the Amazon and iTunes album charts.

Huge public demand for live performances led Chris to form his own 4-piece group: ‘The Chris King Robinson Band’ and as word of the bands astonishing live performances spread, they were invited to headline The Suwalki Blues Festival in Poland, and played the highly exclusive Lead Belly Festival - held at the world renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City - where Chris played a scorching psychedelic jam to the sold out crowd and cemented his reputation as one of the finest young guitarists in the world.

All of this is just the beginning, for a guitarist, who many think, will become the standard bearer for ‘The Blues’ for years to come!
